Great ADRL YouTube Highlight Video

Your agent came across a brilliant ADRL highlight video on YouTube that nobody should miss.
Along with showing some incredible ADRL racing highlights from the past two seasons, this clip showed some of the biggest crashes in ADRL history as well.
Your agent was blown away re-watching some of these highlights, though he would also like to remind you that none of these drivers were seriously hurt during these crashes.
Your agent highly recommends checking this one out.

Goodson Remembered After Sudden Passing

Everyone at the ADRL and in drag racing was saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Bankston Boyz Racing crew member James “Redeye” Goodson (pictured).

Team owner Michael Bankston was informed of the passing on Saturday morning.
“James was an integral part of our racing operation since the inception of the ADRL as a result of a close relationship with the Bankston family,” said Mark Teague of Bankston Boyz Racing. “James’ dedication to family was clearly on display the last several years. We would like to express our deepest sympathy to the entire Goodson family for this sudden loss.”

ADRL President and CEO Kenny Nowling also had several heart-warming memories of Goodson.
“He was the kind of guy who always had a smile on his face. Every memory I have of him is a blessing,” Nowling said. “On the behalf of the entire ADRL family, we extend our deepest condolences to his family and the entire Bankston Boyz Racing team.”

Hancock Returning to Pro Nitrous in Rockingham?

Could the Pro Nitrous field be getting even deeper thanks to the return of a former ADRL World Champion? Your agent thinks it might after he found out talented driver Jamie Hancock (pictured) is planning to make his return at Simpson Dragstock VII on Sept. 10-11 at Rockingham Dragway.

That’s exciting news for all ADRL fans, as Hancock is young, talented and exciting, and adds even more depth to a standout Pro Nitrous field. He won a 2007 World Championship in Pro Nitrous and your agent spotted him making some passes in a new Firebird this past weekend.

As you can see in these exclusive pictures, the car is still in primer, but your agent found out that Hancock and his father, James, hope to have it finished in time for Dragstock in Rockingham, which is less than two weeks away.

That would be quite the return for Hancock, coming back at the ADRL’s most prestigious race and with a new Firebird to boot.

As soon as your agent gets renderings of the new wrap, he’ll be sure to pass it along. It seems like Dragstock is getting bigger by the day!

Smith and Tutterow Testing in Rockingham This Weekend

Your agent found out that a couple North Carolina natives are getting in some testing at Rockingham Dragway two weeks before ADRL Simpson Dragstock VII at Rockingham Dragway.

Pro Extreme’s Todd Tutterow (pictured) and Pro Nitrous driver Rickie Smith are part of a star-studded lineup doing some testing at the fast track this weekend. It’s obviously a good move to test at this track in order to be ready for the ADRL’s biggest and most prestigious race of the year.

Smith will be looking to maintain his hold on the lead in Pro Nitrous, helped in part to a 3-race winning streak that was snapped at the Hardee’s Gateway Drags. Your agent thinks the testing might be even more important for Tutterow, who is currently holding onto the eighth position in Pro Extreme.

The 2009 PX champ is looking to stay in that top eight spot and the testing will obviously be beneficial for both of these talented ADRL drivers this weekend.

Nowling Last Hope for Gateway International Raceway?

Your agent was saddened to see the news that Gateway International Raceway was not on the NHRA schedule for 2011, furthering speculation about the fate of the spacious track.

But your agent is also hearing that ADRL President and CEO Kenny Nowling may be the last hope to save the situation - and the facility. During the ADRL Gateway Drags III earlier this month, Nowling wondered aloud in front of the capacity crowd about purchasing the facility himself should Dover Motorsports choose to sell the facility.

Dover Motorsports closed its track at Memphis last year, and your agent would hate to see another track meet the same demise, especially considering how many special ADRL memories have been made at GIR for racers and fans alike.

There’s no doubt the track has undergone some difficult times, but your agent knows Nowling would be the perfect guy to take it over, turn it around and keep the track alive and vibrant. Your agent will keep you posted on what he hears next about this situation.

Hossler Building to Big Finish?

Your agent came upon an interesting read on Pro Extreme driver Alex Hossler, who won the most recent ADRL race, the Gateway Drags III in St. Louis in early August.

It was a big win for Hossler, as it came in front of a huge amount of friends, family and co-workers. But your agent also knows the win was big to keep Hossler (pictured after winning the Gateway Drags) right in the thick of things in the extremely tight Pro Extreme field.

Your agent was also impressed with how well his team manages to perform against the other big-hitters in the class. Hossler gave a lot of credit to car-builder Chris Duncan, as well as the new torque convertor he put in the car before the summer months.

Your agent also found out Hossler plans to return to race in the Arabian Drag Racing League this winter after a wonderful experience last year.

“We’re doing eight races in the Middle East this year and looking forward to them very much,” Hossler said in the interview. “They’ve upped the payouts on them a little bit this year and to any racer that is lucky enough to get invited I would strongly recommend taking full advantage of the opportunity. It’s an incredible experience.”
