Back in Action
For Jim Oddy, it’s not quite time for a rocking chair on the porch.
No one could blame him if he had stuck to the original plan of retiring to his lakeside home just north of Charlotte with his beautiful new bride, Charlene, and a lifetime of drag racing memories. With 10 major drag racing championships to his credit, either as a driver or tuner, and induction into two drag racing halls of fame, the Buffalo, NY-based engine builder, crew chief and team owner had obviously proven all he ever needed or wanted to in ultra-fast doorslammer competition.
