First Look: Tutterow’s Al-Anabi Camaro

Your Agent was fortunate enough to receive a couple of snaps of ADRL Pro Extreme World Champion Todd Tutterow’s new Al-Anabi Racing ‘68 Camaro as it rolled out of Tim McAmis Race Cars in Hawk’s Point, MO.
This is the same McAmis-built car that reigning Pro Nitrous World Champ Khalid Al-Balooshi drove in eight ADRL events last season, but now fitted with a screw-blown Hemi for PX use.
Tutterow apparently has a little work left to do, but with plans to test soon at Bradenton Motorsports Park in south Florida, he should be ready for the ADRL season-opening Universal Technical Institute Dragpalooza VI presented by Safety-Kleen Mar. 19-20, at Houston Raceway Park.
Looks like “King Tutt” is ready to come out swingin!

Sheikh Khalid Wins Race and Championship
Details remain sketchy at best coming out of the Qatar Race Club, but your Agent understands His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Thani has won the 2009-10 season-ending Round 7 in the Arabian Drag Racing League due to a red-light start by Alex Hossler in the Pro Extreme final.
No word yet on just how red Hossler was, but he apparently threw away a solid 3.74 at 203.71-mph pass while Al-Thani had a troubled 5.18 at not quite 95 mph in the opposite lane. Ouch!
Regardless, if your Agent’s math is correct (and that’s a big “IF,” just ask his high school teachers), that should give the Sheikh his first championship in his first season behind the wheel of a Pro Extreme car. And that’s impressive!
Also winning the race, and, your Agent believes, also securing a championship, was current American Drag Racing League champ Khalid Al-Balooshi, who beat Al-Anabi Racing teammate Mike Castellana in the Qatar Pro Nitrous final.

Free ADRL Test Session at San Antonio Raceway
“Free” is pretty much always a good word to hear.
So your Agent is appreciative of the efforts by ADRL Extreme Pro Stock racer Cale Aronson, along with RGV Racing Fuels, Mickey
Thompson (official tire of the ADRL), and Aronson Motorsports, to provide ADRL competitors with the opportunity for a free test session Mar. 16-17, at San Antonio Raceway.
The track is approximately 180 miles west of Baytown, TX, home of the Mar. 19-20, ADRL Universal Technical Institute Dragpalooza VI presented by Safety-Kleen at Houston Raceway Park.
San Antonio Raceway’s Freddy Cruz will be administering track operations during the testing session, and can be contacted at (210) 849-3225 or protreefreddy@yahoo.com. To pre-register, visit Aronson Motorsports online by Mar. 10, or contact Aronson at cale@gofastquick.com or (660) 646-4553.
All VP Racing Fuels, the official fuel of the ADRL, will be available through RGV on site at discount pricing, but race teams are encouraged to place fuel orders by Mar 15, by calling Albert at (956) 239-0871.Aronson also is holding a Mickey Thompson sale for the test session, but tire orders must be placed through him by Mar. 10 to ensure delivery to the track for when the test session begins. Orders placed after that date will incur additional handling charges, he said.
Oh, and spectator passes will be available at the gate for $10 bucks apiece.
If your Agent wasn’t already booked, he might just be tempted to get a head start on the 2010 season in San Antone, too.

BTG: ‘Geezer’ Goes to Qatar

When you have a few minutes to spare, your Agent suggests settling down with a beverage of choice and going Beyond the Guardwall with official ADRL lensman Roger Richards, who this weekend is visually chronicling his first visit to the Qatar Racing Club, near Doha, Qatar.
Richards is accompanying ADRL President and CEO Kenny Nowling along with several other key ADRL staffers as they stage the championship-determining Round 7 of the 2009-10 Arabian Drag Racing League season.
Beyond the on-track action, your Agent is confident “the Geezer,” as Richards is affectionately known in these parts, will provide the best behind-the-scenes look you’ll find at drag racing in the Middle East.
Your Agent almost feels like he’s been there ...

Getting Dressed with Stanley & Weiss

Your Agent got a sneak peek tonight at the artwork for the 2010 T-shirts for the “Appalachia on Steroids” ‘68 Camaro that John Stanley drives for the Stanley & Weiss Pro extreme team out of Hagerstown, MD.
Put your Agent down for a double-XL. He’ll pick it up Mar. 19-20, at the Universal Technical Institute Dragpalooza VI presented by Safety-Kleen, when he stops by the Stanley & Weiss trailer Thursday night for one of Camp Stanley’s famous libations.

Congratulations also go out to Gray for securing associate backing from Mickey Thompson Performance Tires and Wheels, just in time to begin the 2010 ADRL season Mar. 19-20, at the Universal Technical Institute Dragpalooza VI presented by Safety-Kleen at Houston Raceway Park.
