Powertrain Pumps Up Prophits
The Prophit Brothers, Matt (left) and Charlie, had their Pro Extreme Motorcycles on display all weekend at the PRI show in the ADRL/Flowmaster booth.
Team owner Charlie shared some good news with your Agent this morning, saying longtime friend and backer Terry Durrence with Powertrain is stepping up his sponsorship with them in 2009.
"He dropped the bomb and offered us a great deal. We had no idea it was coming," Charlie said. "But it's going to help us a lot next season and we really appreciate Powertrain and Terry stepping up like this."

Personett Plans on Pro Extreme Return
While wandering the seemingly endless aisles of the PRI show, your Agent came across this gorgeous '68 Camaro in the Precision Turbos booth that's destined for ADRL Pro Extreme action in the hands of former Extreme 10.5 winner Brad Personett, who last entered an ADRL event in June.
The car, built by RJ Race Cars and completed only a couple of weeks ago, is clad by a Hairy Glass body and carries a 520 c.i. Hemi boosted by a pair of Precision Pro Mod turbos of unspecified dimensions.
Precision's Harry Hrudska said the team is heading straight to the track for initial testing once the trade show is over tonight and depending on the results, he expects Personett will attend several ADRL events in 2009.

Special-Edition Glidden Mustang
Check out ADRL Extreme 10.5 World Champion Billy Glidden and the new special-edition Mustang named for him by JDM Engineering out of Freehold, NJ. Yes, that says 525 HP on the shaker scoop courtesy of a Saleen roots-style supercharger.
JDM owner James D'Amore actually handed the keys to this beauty to your Agent, who can attest to plenty of grunt under the hood. Fifty 2009 models will soon be produced D'Amore said, with each personalized with a plaque commemorating one of BG's many racing accomplishments.
Hmmmmmmm, your Agent wonders how much of a trade-in he can get for the Pinto.

Bookended by visits to the Lone Star state, it looks like your Agent also will be making appearances at new venues in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio and Virginia next year, with return trips to Michigan, North Carolina, Texas and Virginia.

Jensen’s Pro Extreme Camaro
Spotted in the Turbonetics booth at the PRI show: Andy Jensen's single-turboed, 427-powered '68 Camaro with new Pro Extreme designations on its windows.
At Dragstock V earlier this year, Jensen lowered the official Pro Nitrous E.T. record to 3.873 seconds, a feat that signaled the end of turbos' welcome in the PN ranks.
Pennsylvania-based Jensen told your Agent he welcomes the PX challenge, however, and says he plans to be at the ADRL season opener at Houston next March, as long as he can get a little testing in beforehand.

Hancock Plans Return to ADRL Action
Your Agent ran into 2007 ADRL Pro Nitrous world champ Jamie Hancock (2nd from left) at the PRI trade show in Orlando and the young star said he plans on returning to ADRL competition at the 2009 season opener in Houston next March.
Hancock will bring out his trusty, championship-winning '04 Corvette after severely crashing his brand-new Precision Racecraft-built '68 Firebird this summer. He said Precision is busy building a new '68 'Bird for him, but it won't be ready until the middle of next year.
With Hancock was his father/crew chief James (left), Chris Patrick of Automated Race Technologies and Patrick's crew chief on his '41 Willys Pro nitrous entry, Ron Martin (far right).
