Reese Rebuilding with Hemi Power

Rockmart, GA's David Reese is continuing the rebuild of his '02 Mustang after suffering a crash in testing late last month at Alabama International Dragway in Steele, AL. Destined for ADRL Pro Nitrous competition, the Mauney Race Cars-built Stang will hopefully be ready in time for the 2nd annual Shelor.com Spring Drags, Apr. 25-26 at Tulsa Raceway Park, but this time with a Hemi up front boosted by Reese's unique twin-Procharger set up. Lynam Looking for Reliability Before Return to PX Action

Your Agent spoke with John Lynam today and the 2005 ADRL Pro Extreme world champion confirmed that he and car owner Johnny McGrady are currently hard at work putting together a new combination for their Lil' Red Corvette that should see them re-enter ADRL competition later this year. Lynam said they are making several changes to the car and engine, including possibly switching to a screw-type supercharger, but anything they do has to result in a reliable, cost-effective program that allows them to contend with the class frontrunners.

"We had to take a break just to get in position to go quicker," Lynam said. "It's not just a simple matter of bolting something new on. It's a time-consuming process and there's going to be a learning curve no matter what we do because we're not content to just go out there and qualify--we want to be in a position to compete and win, but with the competition that's out there with the ADRL today that's a tall order."

Lynam revealed a new, in-house-built '63 Corvette has been tacked together and the McGrady-led team has enough parts on hand to field two complete cars if warranted by finances and situation. "I think people would be surprised at what's sitting at our shop," he said. "But we're racing out of our own pockets and without any major sponsor support we have to be very careful about what we do. That's why we're going to try some things to go quicker without having to lean on it so hard every pass."

Lynam also stressed to your Agent that he "really appreciates the interest" he's seen from fans and followers about his return to ADRL action and though he can't commit to a specific event, he's hopeful it will come soon. "I'm anxious to let the clutch out again. I feel like I'm in a drought," he said. (ADRL/Tocher file photo)

Hancock Rejects XTF Experiment?

James Hancock III, father and crew chief of 18-year-old ADRL Pro Nitrous world champion Jamie Hancock, was spotted at a recent race in Hattiesburg, MS, hanging out with ADRL Extreme 10.5 racers Bill Jewett and crew. Rumors circulated that the elder Hancock, himself an experienced Pro Nitrous pilot, might make a lap in Jewett's supercharged Mustang, but apparently he never did get behind the wheel. Hmmmmmm, your Agent has to wonder if James bailed on the idea after he couldn't find the purge button. (ADRL/Tocher file photo)

Little Testing for Tulsa Tussle

It's too small to read here, but your Agent got a kick out of seeing "A Little/Price to Pay" painted on the spill plate of the rear wing of Dennis Price's new Mark Lynn-built '63 Vette. Price said he lured Donnie Little out of retirement to shoe the new ride and contracted Mike Capps to turn wrenches as crew chief on the Buck Racing Engines 728-cubic incher. The trio were in action with the car's testing debut last weekend at Gateway International Raceway, near St. Louis, where Price said they plan to enter ADRL Pro Nitrous competition with it Apr. 25-26, in the 2nd annual Shelor.com Spring Drags at Tulsa Raceway Park. ADRL Stats and Fast Facts Updated

Your Agent was happy to see the ADRL.us "Stats" page updated to match what appears in the latest issue of Adrenaline magazine, the official publication of the ADRL that's available at each national event. Also, your Agent sends kudos to Brian Cupp and ProModifieds.us for compiling and presenting the Stats and Fast Facts. We all want to know!

Rapid Rabbits?

A little late for Easter, but your Agent couldn't resist sharing this shot of everyone's favorite ADRL TV personality with his bunnies. That's Bret Kepner in the middle between the 37 combined pounds of his pet Flemish Giant rabbits. Bet these critters have some of the best holeshots in the business!

Beware of ‘Black Ice’!

Your Agent applauds Speedtech Nitrous for stepping up with a $5,000 bounty for the first pass in the 3.80s by one of their Cigaro manifold system customers in ADRL Pro Nitrous eliminations (see "News" section at www.ADRL.us for details), but what really caught his eye was this first-released, on-track image of Speedtech co-owner Shannon Jenkins' new "Black Ice" '68 Camaro that came attached to the release copy. No testing data was included, but your Agent is on the case!

Thompson Bringin’ the Heat to Tulsa

Your Agent has been in touch with former national Super Street champion Elliot Thompson, who said he'd be bringing his twin-turbocharghed '92 Camaro down to the 2nd annual Shelor.com Spring Drags at Tulsa Raceway Park to enter the Extreme 10.5 wars. That's a long haul from Horsham, PA, but your Agent is sure both Thompson and the Okie ADRL fans will be happy when he makes the trip. (ADRL/Tocher file photo)
