The growing relationship has also proven to be an ideal one for DJ Safety.

“The ADRL is just where we want to be. We’ve wanted to be involved with the ADRL for a long time and it has worked out very well for us in 2012,” DJ Safety Director of Marketing Ben Ryan said.

“It fits into our primary market and we have a great relationship with a lot of the racers. It’s also our preferred type of car from a fan aspect, and it’s just been a great fit for us.”

Established in 1996 by retired Navy Lieutenant Commander Joseph Hansen and his wife, Darlene, DJ Safety provides high-level design engineering applications for a number of industries, including drag racing, government contracts and film industry work.

Located in Los Angeles, DJ Safety offers a number of high-quality drag racing items, including firesuits, fire systems, parachutes and much more.

Its drag racing parachutes have become very popular in the ADRL and are used by Pro Extreme driver John Stanley.

“Our parachutes are our pride and joy, and we firmly believe we make the best ones on the market,” Ryan said. “There’s no such thing as a generic parachute when it comes to the ones we make.

“Every car is different and every parachute is tailor-made for each car. We take the technology we’ve developed and apply it to every car.”

The strong ethic and attention to detail is also obvious in every product DJ Safety produces. The company has frequent input with the top names in the sport and is constantly working on its top-notch product line.

“We go through every product and design it the best we can. We talk to a lot of racers, so we really have a hands-on approach,” Ryan said. “We’ve really been pleased with the response from working with the ADRL. There’s a lot of teams running our equipment and working with the ADRL has put us in with some great company.”

The ADRL safety team debuted new firesuits from DJ Safety during the 2012 season as well.

The firesuits have worked flawlessly throughout a memorable 2012 ADRL season, adding another positive layer in the relationship between the ADRL and DJ Safety.

“The guys on the ADRL safety team really know how to take care of business and it’s been great to work closely with them. It’s worked out perfectly,” Ryan said.
