Once again, Mickey Thompson is the Official Tire of the 2012 American Drag Racing League (ADRL) series, the third straight year it has held that prestigious role.
But the growing partnership with the ADRL doesn’t stop there when it comes to the 2012 ADRL Tour.
Mickey Thompson is also the presenting sponsor of the ADRL Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags VI event sponsor, as well as the official class sponsor of Extreme 10.5 category, making it the Mickey Thompson Extreme 10.5 class.
In addition, an expanded contingency program will also support all highly competitive racing classes in the coming season.
“It is a great pleasure for us to support the ADRL and Extreme 10.5 class racers,” said Tom Kundrik, Motorsports Manager, Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels. “We are pleased that Mickey Thompson tires are the official tire again in 2012, and we’re looking forward to another great year.”
The Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags VI presented by Mickey Thompson takes place Sept. 28-29 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
Of course, Mickey Thompson also renewed its longtime partnership with Mickey Thompson Extreme 10.5 world champion Billy Glidden.

It’s been another standout season for Glidden in 2012 as well, as he has one event win and is second in the point standings in the Mickey Thompson Extreme 10.5 class. Glidden has taken home numerous No. 1 qualifiers as well, going as quick as 3.859, which is a career-best run.
“Bill had another great season in 2011, and we want to continue to support his efforts and help him maintain his momentum,” said Ken Warner, VP Sales and Marketing, Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels. “He is consistently on the list of top performers in the 10.5 class, and a fierce competitor in this drag racing series.”
Officially established in 2007, the Big Tire Development Program is a collaborative effort that allows real-world testing and evaluation of the ET Drag tire and wheel line in a variety of applications and racing environments. Evaluative data is used for product development that results in consistently exceptional and reliable products for racers on the strip.
In the Mickey Thompson Extreme 10.5 class, Alan Pittman is the points leader and heading in on his first world title, thanks to three event wins. Other winners in the class in 2012 includes Todd Moyer, Dennis Sugrue and Brad Brand, who has two wins.
Jeff Naiser, who uses Mickey Thompson tires in the Pro Modified class, has one event win and is currently second in points in Pro Modified.
