New challenges have come in 2012 for American Drag Racing League (ADRL) sponsor RAM Clutches, but to see how well the company has responded, one only has to look as their remarkable track record through seven events on the 2012 ADRL Tour.
Heading into the final three events, RAM Clutches has been the go-to choice for 17 winners and 11 runner-up performers in the Extreme Pro Stock, Pro Nitrous and Aeromotive Pro Modified classes.
That brilliant run of success has included every 2012 winner in Extreme Pro Stock and all but one in Aeromotive Pro Modified, as the ADRL’s top drivers continues to make RAM Clutches their top choice, even in the most adverse track conditions.
“What we’ve seen this year is that the tracks have been much more challenging,†RAM Clutches General Manager Pat Norcia said. “It’s leveled the playing field and it’s become more of a challenge for drivers and tuners.
“It’s been kind of exciting to see it all unfold, and it’s most definitely been a good year to see the kind of success from the drivers in the ADRL using our products.â€
In Pro Nitrous, winners using RAM products include Rickie Jones, who has won twice, Shannon Jenkins and Robert Patrick. Mike Castellana’s four wins leads an impressive list in Aeromotive Pro Modified, and it also includes Jeff Naiser and Fredy Scriba.
In Extreme Pro Stock, John Pluchino, Cary Goforth, Dean Goforth, Richie Stevens Jr., John DeFlorian (who also set the E.T. record with an amazing 4.01) and Todd Hoerner
have all relied on RAM Clutches in 2012.What has made it exciting for Norcia and the Columbia, S.C.-based company is seeing an abundance of first-time winners in 2012. In all, eight wins have been firsts for drivers in their respective classes.
“You’ve seen a lot of different faces jump up this year and so many newcomers are doing well. There’s a lot of variety in these classes and that’s certainly a good thing for everyone,†Norcia said.
RAM has paid close attention to carefully developing and refining its popular line of products. It has consistently found new materials to use on products for improved performance and durability, staying on the cutting edge in the process.
With clutches and car components available to everyone from professional racers to street car drivers, RAM’s product line also caters to an abundance of drivers.
“We will continue to make a lot of minor adjustments over the winter and really nitpick our product. We’re working harder than ever on our set-up and combinations to deliver a premium product,†Norcia said.
Norcia and RAM Clutches have also been at every stop on the 2012 ADRL Tour, enjoying a partnership with the ADRL that is now in its fourth year.
With Dragstock IX taking place at the state-of-the-art zMAX Dragway, Norcia and RAM enjoyed racing at a facility during an event that was also a landmark moment for the ADRL
“That was just phenomenal to race at the facility. I don’t think we ever envisioned getting to race at a place like that,†Norcia said.
