Flying A Motorsports Develops Relationships With ADRL Teams As Official Truck and Trailer Supplier

Now in its second year serving as the Official Truck and Trailer Supplier of the American Drag Racing League (ADRL), Flying A Motorsports has continued to develop strong relationships with the teams racing with the world’s premier eighth-mile drag racing league.

At each event, owner Alan Cape and his team roam the pits, offering trackside service for any ADRL team free of charge. Cape provides assistance for a variety of problems, and will even overnight parts to get items on a racer’s trailer or motorhome repaired.

“At the races, we try to help people who show up with trailer or motorhome issues,” Cape said. “We’ll just jump in and do whatever we can do to get it back on the road or fixed. We try to get as much done as we can.”

Cape and Flying A Motorsports have helped a large number of ADRL teams since 2011, which is when Flying A Motorsports first became involved with the ADRL.

The 2011 season marked Cape’s return to racing and he enjoyed interacting with the ADRL teams, offering repair services as well as a number of truck and trailer purchase options for ADRL competitors.

As the ADRL closes in on its eighth race on the 2012 ADRL Tour – the Memphis Drags III at Memphis International Raceway – Cape has been a major help to the talented racers in the ADRL.

If repairs can’t be provided immediately, Flying A can also schedule repairs for upcoming ADRL events.

“It’s pretty neat to be able to help somebody. These guys are well-prepared, but stuff just happens sometimes and we’re just happy to be able to help them,” Cape said.

With more than 20 years in the truck and trailer business, Flying A Motorsports is one of the largest dealers in the country and offers a variety of high-quality trailers, RVs and campers.

Cape noted that used motorhomes continue to be a popular item, as well as 36-foot lift gate trailers and semi trailers, which offer a safe and sometimes more efficient method for first-time buyers.

Cape, who has a long history in motorsports as well, has worked closely with a variety of ADRL teams to provide new and used trailers and motorhomes, developing enjoyable relationships in the process.

“It’s been pretty cool. It’s been a lot of fun watching these classes and meeting all these people. It’s been great and the cars are just amazing,” Cape said.

“Everyone here is so professional and it’s been great to develop some name recognition with these drivers. It’s just a big family out here. I’ve formed a great relationship with the ADRL and so many drivers, and that has been just a thrill for me.”
