After a tremendous start to the partnership in 2011, the 2012 season continues to shape up as a banner year between the American Drag Racing League (ADRL) and Classic Graphix, which was named as the Official Apparel and Crew Uniform Supplier for the second straight year.
The family-owned Classic Graphix has continued to supply all of the official apparel and merchandise for the 2012 ADRL Tour, which will make its eighth of 10 stops on Sept. 7-8 with the Memphis Drags III at Memphis International Raceway.
“We’re all race fans, so this is a neat deal,†Classic Graphix Owner Scott Bathurst said. “I’ve been an ADRL fan a long time, and this has been a great time for me.â€
With a successful business that stretches back 25 years, the California-based company designs t-shirts, crew uniforms and apparel for many of the top ADRL teams, developing relationships that Bathurst continues to enjoy.
As the Official Apparel and Crew Uniform Supplier of the ADRL, Classic Graphix is in attendance at each ADRL event, selling a variety of items out of a new merchandise trailer. At the recent and highly-successful Dragstock IX event at zMAX Dragway, Bathurst was
impressed with the fan turnout.
“It was a great deal. We had two rows 10-deep for a big part of the weekend,†Bathurst said. “It was definitely a neat crowd.â€
Classic Graphix, which also presents the Best Appearing Crew award to an ADRL team at each of the 10 events, produces an array of official ADRL items, ranging from t-shirts to hoodies to jackets, jerseys, decals, license plate holders and a full line of women’s apparel.
With two state-of-the-art printing machines, the company can print as many as 1,000 shirts in an hour. But Bathurst is also pleased with the new items the company has introduced, including a popular ADRL backpack.
“I can listen when someone comes up to the trailer and asks for something, and then I can get them ready for the next event,†Bathurst said. “We had the backpacks just to see if they were popular, and they were gone in four hours at the first race.
“That’s been a good item. We’ve had a great reception from all the fans with all the apparel and items we do.â€
The company is also responsible for producing the official event shirt for every race, something that continues to be a top seller at each stop on the 2012 ADRL Tour.
Its variety and creativity – Bathurst uses artists from across the world – are major reasons why the event shirts have been so popular.
“We try to change it up every race so that everybody gets some play on the shirt and everyone is happy,†Bathurst said.
