The American Drag Racing League (ADRL), the world’s premier eighth-mile drag racing league, that it will hold a massive pre-event showcase on Thursday from 2-7 p.m at the St. Louis Cardinal’s Ball Park Village in the heart of downtown St. Louis. This event takes place the day before the ADRL officially serves as the host event for the grand re-opening of Gateway Motorsports Park with the Gateway Drags IV presented by CarSafe on June 1-2.
The spectacular racing event will feature appearances from several of the ADRL’s top drivers and will also include race cars from each of the St. Louis-area chassis builders (Jerry Haas Race Cars, Jerry Bickel Race Cars, Tim McAmis Race Cars, RJ Race Cars and Jeffers Pro Cars). Fans are invited to participate in various activities including autograph signings, ticket giveaways and a chance to enter a drawing for a trip to Aruba.
Hardee’s will be at the showcase to hand out discount food coupons as well.
Discount tickets from O’Reilly Auto Parts for the Gateway Drags are currently available for purchase at all area locations.

The Gateway Drags IV presented by CarSafe takes place on June 1-2 at Gateway Motorsports Park, just five minutes from downtown St. Louis. It is the fourth stop on the 10-race 2012 ADRL Tour. The ADRL last raced at Gateway in 2010 and has consistently drawn huge crowds at its home track.
The gates open at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, with the first round of qualifying on Friday set to begin at 12 p.m. On Saturday, the racing will begin at 12 p.m. with the final qualifying session. The first round of eliminations starts at 3:30 p.m., with special jet car passes and other exhibition runs concluding the evening on Friday and Saturday.
Tickets are $15 for adults Friday or Saturday, $25 for a two-day, full-event pass and children 12-under are free. Tickets are available by calling the Gateway Motorsports Park box office at (618) 215-8888 or through www.adrl.us/schedule/tickets.
