After world championships and “Battle For the Belts” winners are decided, the American Drag Racing League (ADRL) will conclude its three-day weekend at Texas Motorplex with its fourth annual Racer Appreciation and Awards Gala on October 23 in the Champion’s Club.

Serving as a fitting finish to an already record-breaking 2011 season, the gala will end a weekend that includes the LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals VII and the “Battle For The Belts” on Oct. 21-23 at Texas Motorplex.

“After the race, we now will all have a chance to celebrate the incredible 2011 ADRL season together and award each of our world champions,” ADRL Executive Vice President Jeff Fortune said. “It will be the perfect way to cap off what will be a thrilling 3-day weekend as well as an unbelievable 2011 season.”

The casual dress event takes place from 6:30-10 p.m. in the Champion’s Club at Texas Motorplex. Tickets are $35 and everyone must purchase a ticket to attend.

ADRL will have a presentation to the class champions in a special ceremony, and belts will also be awarded to the “Battle For the Belts” winners. Additionally, the ADRL will announce and reward its 2011 Competitor of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Track of the Year.

Brian Olson will serve as Master of Ceremonies for this year’s Gala. Winners from 2010 included Ashley Owens (Competitor of the Year), Mick Snyder (Rookie of the Year) and Summit Motorsports Park (Track of the Year).

The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the celebration begins at 7 p.m. with an upscale buffet dinner, with the awards ceremony to follow. There will be a cash bar as well.

Tickets can be purchased by check, credit card or money order, but must be purchased in advance and no later than 5 p.m. CST on October 10 or until the event sells out. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the Summit Racing Equipment registration trailer at the Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags V (Sept. 23-24 at Summit Motorsports Park).
