RJ Race Cars Putting Finishing Touches On 2011 PN Camaro

The new 2011 Camaro from ADRL sponsor RJ Race Cars

The buzz has been substantial and your agent can confirm the wait is almost over.
In an exclusive interview on “ADRL Drag Racing Live,” RJ Race Cars and Quarter-Max President Rick Jones revealed that their new 2011 Camaro is almost set to debut in Pro Nitrous.
In fact, it should be heading to a race track next month for testing, and should be in PN points leader Mike Castellana’s possession by August.

“The first one we built for Mike Castellana, it’s in the body shop right now, so we’re hoping it will be ready for the track the third week of August. It’s turned out really good and I can’t wait to see it,” Jones said.
“It’s really an awesome car. What I think is awesome about it is it really looks like a 2011 Camaro. There’s a great amount of identity in it. It’s going to be fast, people are going to know it’s a 2011 Camaro and that’s going to be exciting.”

The design has already earned strong praise and your agent can’t wait to see the finished product.
As for a debut date, it could be later this fall in the ADRL, which would be incredible to see. Castellana has been outstanding all year but a new car might make him even more dangerous.

“We’ll be testing the last week of August, but I haven’t talked to Mike and Shannon (Jenkins) about what race they’re going to run with it first,” Jones said. “September is going to be extremely busy.
“We have a lot of confidence in the new car, it’s just whatever Mike feels comfortable with, but I know he’s excited about it.”

As for the performance of his own PN team, which includes his son, Rickie Jr., as the driver, Jones is hoping for plenty of positives at the upcoming Speedtech U.S. Drags IV, which takes place Aug. 12-13 at Virginia Motorsports Park.

“We’re going to rebound and hopefully try to get a win in (Virginia). That’s our gameplan,” Jones said.
