Your agent had a great time listening to Extreme Pro Stock driver Richie Stevens Jr. on “ADRL Drag Racing Live” on Thursday.
He raced for just the second time in XPS last month at Palm Beach International Raceway, advancing to the finals of the Safety-Kleen Spring Drags II.
It’s been a whirlwind ride for Stevens, who is thankful to Mark Eckman and Cale Aronson for the opportunity.
“I’m very grateful to Mark, Cale and his dad, and I’ve had a great time,” Stevens said. “It’s been a great road and hopefully it doesn’t end anytime soon.
“(Palm Beach) was great. To go to the finals and run against the Pete Berners and the (John) Montecalvos, they’re all great people. We got a couple lucky breaks and we did the best we could. Just to be in that spot in the second race, it was an awesome feeling.”
Stevens hopes the run doesn’t end anytime soon. He’s moved to fourth in the points standings in XPS and can really sense some special things happening.
Next on his goal list for the Inaugural Penske Truck Leasing Northeast Drags, which takes place this weekend at Maple Grove Raceway, is to get his first ADRL win. Beyond that, Stevens wouldn’t mind seeing an all-CarSafe final between him and teammate Cale Aronson.
“Hopefully we can do that in Reading,” Stevens said. “We’re doing really good in points and we want to just keep moving up.”
